Owner, Certified Personal Trainer
Melissa has been the Founder and Owner of Perfection Fitness Studio since 2004.
She is a certified trainer through the American Council on Exercise, has an educational background in kinesiology, specializes in men and women’s weight loss, lifestyle programs, pre-/post-natal training, and children’s fitness programs.
In 1993, Melissa first began teaching aerobics and group fitness classes in corporate health clubs. Her passion for helping others on a one on one basis in a more comfortable environment became extremely important to her. Now with over 23 years of experience, her journey and success as a fitness professional in facilities throughout Southern California has led her to operating the longest running private personal training studio in the Inland Empire. Melissa takes pride in the team of professionals she has brought together over the last 7 years. The energy, comradery, and performance with all of the trainers at the studio are the cornerstones for clients returning year after year for their fitness goals to be met.
Melissa’s passion for training does not stop with her clients and studio team. In 2010, Melissa was personally chosen by celebrity trainer Chris Powell to be featured on ABC’s hit show, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, Season 2. Melissa assisted in the transformation of local resident Ashley Johnson with her weight loss of 180lbs and a complete lifestyle change in one year. In addition to her work, Melissa is dedicated to giving back to the community. She is on the committee for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, Healthy RC, as well as being an Ambassador for the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce.
As a business owner, wife, and mother, Melissa knows firsthand how challenging it can be to balance it all and still keep her body and health a priority. Her love for nature and training her body outdoors led her to signing up for a year-round training routine for the Race to the Top of Mt. Baldy, the highest elevation race in Southern California. She completed this race in 2010 and for four consecutive years placed in the top 10 in her age division. In 2015, Melissa completed the Six Pack of Peak Challenge which is a series of backpacking hikes to peaks and ultimately ending in elevation over 11,000 feet on top of Mt. San Gorgonio. Since these personal records were completed, Melissa started a community hiking group to encourage others to move more outside. Mel’s hiking group was formed in 2016 with SoCal Hiking Association to help others hike in a safe group and is open for anyone to join free of charge. Hiking schedules now take place January through June every year.
Melissa’s mission is to help make Rancho Cucamonga, the city where she lives and works, one of the healthiest cities to live in Southern California. Her unstoppable energy and self-motivation to help people believe in themselves goes above reproach.
When asked by a reporter from the Daily Bulletin News what her goals were, Melissa’s response was simple: “To change the lives of everyone who crosses my path”
